We spent a gorgeous couple of days at our house, enjoying the beautiful surroundings.
We enjoyed a couple of days in and around the house watching the wild life. The first few days we needed the logburner, it was still cold but, the last couple of days we had glorious blue skies! Weather in Scotland surprises us every time!!
We are looking forward to our next visit in August.
Heath House improvements 🔨 🪵 🪚
We've got lots of ongoing plans, a wee update so far ...
Our decking is finished now, it looks great.
Also the work on the garage is making progress, but there was a lot of woodworking going on!

Our June adventures....
Part 1
Culloden battlefield & Cawdor castle
Culloden Battlefield is great if you are into history. Not so far of a drive and a great combination with a lovely ride in the country.

But my favorite was a nice long visit to Cawdor Castle and gardens https://www.cawdorcastle.com/
We had amazing weather and it was not too busy. We did the audiotour in Dutch which gave us a nice look into the 17th century and how they lived.
The flowers in the garden where in bloom, which made it a perfect trip for this time of year.
For lunch we went to Findhorn at the seaside. A beautiful lagune with a nice beach. We had really nice fish and chips at the Captain's table . http://www.captainstable.uk/

Our June adventures
Part 2
We took a walk to Lower Foyers, just a 15 minute drive from Heath House. We walked the forest on the shores of Loch Ness, unfortunately no monster spotted this time!!!
We tiptoed into the Loch and yes, the water was cold! We crossed the Lower Foyers Bridge next to the campsite. So enjoyable to walk overthere.

The Falls of Foyers is really worth seeing, especially during wetter weather as they're in full flow & quite spectacular! You have to be quite fit to get down to the viewing areas though!
There's a convenient car park by the Falls, the small store, post office, gift shop and terrace are worthwhile visiting. The tosti with haggis and cheese is delicious.
